APAPA FOUNDERS CELEBRATE FOUNDING CHAIR C.C. YIN 90TH BIRTHDAY

A private Chinese banquet luncheon hosted by Margaret Wong, CEO of McWong Inc at her Sacramento Michelin recognized restaurant Yue Huang brought together the first generation of funders, leaders, advisors, and APAPA Headquarter management team that helped launch the national API civil empowerment organization of Asian and Pacific Islander Americans Public Affairs Association (APAPA) in 2021 on Saturday, Nov. 1st. to celebrate the 90th birthday of its founder, C.C. Yin.

The APAPA founding board members include Chinese American legendary icons who built successful enterprises in Silicon Valley, Kenneth Fong, Sandy Chau, and Hsing Kung who were the first contributors to provide funding to help build APAPA. Peter Huang of Sacramento was the first community donor to APAPA who was unable to attend.

Also serving on the APAPA founding board were Joel Wong, former CEO of East Bay Chinese American Political Association and Dr. Albert Wang, Co-Founder of Friends of Children with Special Needs who were leading the efforts to build APAPA Bay Arean 8 chapters.

Dr. Alvin Cheung, CEO of Sacramento's California Northstate University, a recent former board member of APAPA also attended.

The first generation APAPA Headquarter management leadership attended including Governor Newsom senior advisor Amy Tong, Maeley Tom, Lucy Oback, Yen Marshall, Sokie Hul, Vickie Beaton, and Tony Lin.

Special guest Assembly member Stephanie Nguyen, who represents Sacramento and Elk Grove, presented C.C. with an Assembly resolution and praised the generosity of C.C. Yin's contribution to helping elect more Asian Americans to public office at local, state and national levels such as herself.

C.C. and Regina Yin expressed words of genuine gratitude to each and every individual who attended and helped build the APAPA organization.

Attendees applauded C.C. Yin's passion, persistence, and endless dedication to giving a voice to the API Americans by urging active political and civic participation. This heartfelt tribute of admiration and deep love and friendship toward this pioneer champion of Asian American political and civic activism was the theme of this special occasion.

C.C. specially emphasizes that he is the biggest fan and believer of those who have helped build APAPA, and his 90th celebration is the APAPA 25th year celebration for all API Americans and all Americans!
